  1. Lunch at Leicesterpublished at 84 overs

    Leicestershire 320-5 v Gloucestershire 482

What a bonus for Gloucestershire as Ollie Price has Shan Masood leg-before for 111 with the final ball before lunch.

The Pakistani is not happy, he feels there might have been a thin edge but he has to go after hitting 13 fours in his 176-ball innings.

He put on 82 with Stevie Eskinazi, who remains unbeaten on 29.

Just 15 overs in that session following the rain-delayed start.

  2. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 372-6 v Durham 333

Simon Harmer has 6* and Noah Thain 8* but the game has meandered since Durham took 3-9 in quick order to grab a second batting point and break the huge stand between Dean Elgar (150) and Matt Critchley (129).

Essex lead by 39 but have taken six bonus points from this match, two more than Durham, to extend their lead in the live table to 14.

The covers come on as the players head off as the rain starts to fall.

  3. Postpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 372-6 v Durham 333

We might scrape to lunch without the heavens opening at Chelmsford...

Callum Parkinson will bowl the final over of the shortened session.

Noah Thain has 8* with Simon Harmer 6* and their side 39 ahead.

  4. Lunch at Hovepublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 37-1 - target 278

County Ground, HoveImage source, Adrian Harms/BBC Sussex

The break officially starts at 12.30.

In the meantime the mopping up operation will continue.

More news as we get it.

  5. Postpublished at 79 overs

    Leics 316-4 v Glos 482

Bowling full tosses to a man with 100 to his name is not a good tactic.

Graeme van Buuren is guilty of two - one at the start and one to finish - in his latest over and Shan Masood finds the boundary from both.

He is now 110 not out.

  6. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 371-6 v Durham 333

110 overs are up. No more bonus points.

Durham settle for two bowling points, Essex take three batting points.

Essex lead by 38 with Simon Harmer 6* from 24 balls and Noah Thain 7* from 30.

  7. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middx 298 v Derbys 283 & 30-1

A very brief passage of play at Lord's and they are off again for an early lunch.

There was time enough, though for Ryan Higgins to bowl Caleb Jewell for nine with one that cut back in off the seam.

Luis Reece is 14 not out and Derbyshire lead by 15.

  8. Still raining at New Roadpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 10 September

    Worcs 182 & 141-8 v Notts 207

If anything the rain has got harder.

Frustration for Notts, who won't want to chase many more on this pitch if balls behave like the one that got Tom Taylor out just before the delay.

They began this round just nine points behind Surrey and would've entertained hopes of getting ahead of them after two wickets in two balls from Lyndon James this morning.

The Pears were just 95 ahead at that point.

    Now the lead is 116.

A short ball that barely bounced at all leading to his LBW.

An early lunch is going to be taken and if conditions permit, this game will resume at 12:55.

  9. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Canterburypublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 293 & 131-2 v Lancashire 284

... again. We can presume that will be an early lunch, too.

Kent lead by 140 as the players race off as the heavens open.

Joey Evison has 8* with Ekansh Singh on 5*.

  10. 100 runs

for Shan Masoodpublished at 76.5 overs

    Leics 300-4 v Glos 482

    Shan MasoodImage source, Rex Features

Shan Masood dabs Graeme van Buuren into the off side and marks his Championship debut for Leicestershire with a 150-ball century - the run also earns his side a second batting point.

  11. Postpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 367-6 v Durham 333

Just four overs left for Essex to find 33 runs or Durham to find three wickets to change the status-quo in the table.

Essex are 14 points ahead of second-bottom Durham, as things stand, but that could easily have been 17 by lunch, had Dean Elgar and Matt Critchley stayed together after their monster stand.

  12. On-off activity at Tauntonpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 10 September

    Somerset 441-6 v Yorks

The stumps are back in an upright position and we are about to re-start the action.

Oh no we're not - groundstaff pull one of the covers back out to middle.

Oh yes we are, they promptly take it away again.

Oh no we're not - they pull it out again. (it's like live text panto this, isn't it?).

"What is happening, Buttons?" "It's raining again, Cinderella."

  13. Postpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 10 September

    Kent 293 & 128-2 v Lancashire 284

Slow going as another bank of ominous clouds close on Canterbury.

Ekansh Singh has 2* from 18 balls with Joey Evison swishing Tom Bailey through the covers to move to 8*.

The Kent lead is 137 but Mother Nature has her pads on...

  14. Postpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 362-5 v Durham 333

Attritious stuff now, with the Durham bowlers asking plenty of questions.

After seven balls on nought, Simon Harmer gets off the mark with a clip to the fine leg boundary off Ben Raine.

Noah Thain has 1* from 11 deliveries.

Six overs left for bonus points. Essex might be digging in here.

  15. rain stops play

Rain stops play and Tom Taylor out at New Roadpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 10 September

    Worcs 182 & 141-8 v Notts 207

The eighth wicket partnership is currently worth 19.

Tom Taylor blocks Dillon Pennington to Notts captain Haseeb Hameed at mid off.

Taylor gets a single to point, beating a shy at the stumps from substitute fielder Joe Pocklington.

Roderick goes back to a short ball, opening the face of the bat to nudge a single into the off side.

Out! The ball keeps wickedly low back of a length!

Taylor misses a pull shot and is stuck in the crease in front of all three.

It's also raining. The stumps are being pulled out and the players are walking off.

    Sigh. I was enjoying that.

Worcester are 116 ahead with two wickets left.

  16. Division Two updatepublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 10 September

    Middx 298 v Derbys 283 & 27-0

Play will resume at 12:05 at Lord's.

We had 4.3 overs at the start of play before the rain arrived.

Luis Reece and Caleb Jewell are the not out Derbyshire batters.

  17. Early lunch at The Ovalpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 10 September

    Surrey 246 & 219-2 v Warwickshire 248

    News.

An early lunch will be taken at 12:10 with play set to resume at 12:50.

The sun is out and the covers are off, but I must warn you, the weather radar does not look promising in an hour's time.

Surrey want to swell their 217-run lead to give themselves the best chance of picking up a precious win in their quest for a fourth straight title.

  18. Postpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 10 September

    Worcs 182 & 139-7 v Notts 207

    The Pears lead by 112.

Lyndon James deceives Gareth Roderick a touch with seam movement as the batter is squared up and nudging the ball off side for one.

Tom Taylor tries to get the ball away leg side but doesn't pierce the field.

A play and miss follows on an attempted block from the crease and Taylor gets one off the last ball to mid on.

  19. Postpublished at 72.5 overs

    Leics 289-4 v Glos 482

Matt Taylor tries to dig one into the body of Shan Masood, but the left-hander rides the bounce and glances down to fine leg for four, advancing his score into the 90s. Will they be nervous?

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 10 September

    Pepper lbw b Conners 4 - Essex 358-6 v Durham

Durham have a second bowling point, they are using these helpful conditions perfectly.

Pepper never got going, his feet turned to concrete and Sam Conners pinned him infront for four.

Simon Harmer strides in to join Noah Thain and you can bet he'll have his eye on 42 runs in eight overs.

Durham are back within 14 points of Essex in the live table.
