Fantastic start for England.
Harry Brook will have spoken to them about being aggressive and they've gone out and done that.

Fantastic start for England.

Salt 18, Buttler 7
I'm slightly surprised by that from Kieran. Remember where you were either way.
Kagiso Rabada, a proper modern-day great who I will never tire of watching, brings some sort of normality to the rest of the over.
Four more!
Jos Buttler starts with a guided four off Kagiso Rabada. England are on course for 350.

Lovely shot from Phil Salt.
What a start from him and England, to be able to put South Africa under pressure and leave them wondering about their decision to bowl first.
Salt 18, Buttler 0
Salt gets England off to smashing start against South Africa
And the over ends with a six! Brilliant batting from Phil Salt.
The crowd booed the dot ball to the fourth delivery but he biffs the last back over Jansen's head. It needs to be high to get over Jansen and it goes all of the way for six.

Perfect start for England here. Phil Salt putting his marker down.
Three in a row!
It's not the prettiest strokeplay from Phil Salt but he gets this one down past Marco Jansen's boots for four more.
This one is too straight from Jansen. Four down to fine leg for Salt...
Phil Salt throws his hands at a wide one first up and gets four!
After a golden duck on Wednesday, that's a better start.

Spinners averaged 2.7° of turn at Old Trafford during the men's Hundred, the joint highest for any ground alongside the host venue of the third T20I, Trent Bridge. England will be hoping that holds true, with four spin options in their XI today.
Phil Salt and Jos Buttler have spent a lot of time batting at Old Trafford in the last month, having played here for Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
Lanky left-arm quick Marco Jansen is going to take the new ball.
South Africa beat England in rain-reduced T20
How much can you take from the 12.5 overs possible in South Africa's win in the first T20 in soggy Cardiff?
According to England, the answer is very little.
South Africa's batting power did look fearsome, however. Only Jos Buttler managed to get going in reply.
England have stuck with the same balance of their team, which appears to leave them one pace bowler shorter than would be ideal.
England XI: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (wk), Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook (capt), Sam Curran, Tom Banton, Will Jacks, Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, Luke Wood, Adil Rashid
South Africa XI: Aiden Markram (capt), Ryan Rickelton (wk), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Donovan Ferreira, Marco Jansen, Bjorn Fortuin, Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka, Lizaad Williams
England captain Harry Brook: "We were going to have a bat tonight. The pitch has been used a week or two ago so it might have an affect in the second innings.
"Hopefully it spins, that's why we were going to bat first and hopefully we can post a decent score."
Team news: "Jofra comes in for Jamie Overton."
On plans for Old Trafford: "Same as what we always talk about. With the bat, always looking to put their bowlers under pressure then use the dimensions to manipulate the field.
"With the ball, look at the wicket, use the field and the dimensions and take wickets throughout. Then in the field, always chase the ball hard to the boundary."
On coming to the end of a busy summer: "Absolutely, every day putting an England jersey is awesome. Last couple of pushes for me then I've got a bit of a break."
South Africa captain Aidan Markram at the toss: "We're going to bowl first. I'm not hugely convinced, when you look at the wicket it looks a bit different to how you'd expect here in England. With a bit of rain around, we hope there's a bit of moisture in there."
On team news: "One change today, Bjorn Fortuin comes in for Corbin Bosch."
On the quick turnaround between matches: "It's important we hit the ground running. It's all in the attitude and the mind. It's been busy, but it's been busy for both teams so there's no excuse there and hopefully we can put a good game together."
On his message to his side before the World Cup: "To keep pushing the ceiling. You still have a bit of time to experiment and to push yourself further than you think and to take the game on."
England will be batting first after being inserted by South Africa skipper Aiden Markram.
Harry Brook says he would have batted anyway. Do we believe him?
First things first...
The sun is shining in Manchester. No-one is grumbling about this great city now...
For this second time this month, England find themselves in a pickle.
They're 1-0 down with two to play against South Africa. They were unable to turn the tables in the ODIs.
What about the T20s?
