Welsh Fire absolutely needed that wicket.

Look at Shabnim Ismail telling Alice Capsey where to go, back to the dressing room! I think that's more out of frustration because she has been hit to the boundary and to all parts of the field today.

There isn't even a smile on her face at the minute, Alice Capsey was really on top of her.

  3. Invincibles 103-3published at 70 balls

Paige Scholfield and Marizanne Kapp unable to really find the boundary against Katie Levick and have to settle with running twos and singles.

Men's competition: Southern Brave 89-2 against Trent Rockets

Southern Brave were just starting to go through the gears but Leus du Plooy holes out for 55 off Callum Parkinson.

    Big wicket, that.

Brave have opted to promote Michael Bracewell too as they look to keep the right-left hand combination.

  5. wicket

Shabnim Ismail gives Alice Capsey a send off!

Almost a bit too casual from Capsey who drills one straight back to the Fire quick bowler who claims a smart caught and bowled.

At 36, Ismail still has fire in her belly.

  6. 50 runs

Fifty for Capseypublished at 62 balls

Alice Capsey has fifty with a thump to long on. Capsey then clever lifts Shabnim Ismail over the slips for four.

    She's motoring here.

Alice Capsey was showing off all of her reverse sweeps against Birmingham Phoenix the other day.

She was talking us through all of the different styles she has and the ways she goes about it, whether it is with her wrists or her feet.

She is finding ways to put Georgia Elwiss under pressure here. All of a sudden Welsh Fire have plenty to think about again.

  8. 6 runs

    Invincibles 86-2published at 60 balls

Alice Capsey with plenty of aggression and intent to left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen.

Capsey smashes the first ball of the set over the long-off boundary for six. She then clinically sweeps the Aussie powerfully for four.

  9. Stoinis bowls Roy as Rockets look to restrict Bravepublished at 56 balls

Men's competition: Southern Brave 67-2 against Trent Rockets

    Jason Roy's luck is over.

He was dropped on nought and survived a missed stumping but he's out now. He's bowled by Marcus Stoinis attempting a hoick into the leg side.

That brings James Coles to the crease alongside Leus Du Plooy.

Oval Invincibles were motoring towards the backend of the powerplay, but Welsh Fire are taking key wickets and just slowing things down here.

Marizanne Kapp is a busy cricketer, but they are managing to hold Alice Capsey back a little bit as well.

  11. Invincibles 73-2published at 55 balls

Georgia Elwiss with a solid set until the final delivery when Alice Capsey shows some invention, scooping it for four.

Gut feeling is very important in The Hundred. The quick format makes it more important. When an idea comes you run with it. It's better to back a bad idea than second guess a good one.

  13. Invincibles 63-2published at 50 balls

The craft and guile of West Indies spinner Hayley Matthews continues to flummox Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp.

Just two runs conceded off that set.

Men's competition: Southern Brave 63-1 against Trent Rockets

That's the halfway point in the men's game in Nottingham.

Leus du Plooy has started to find his stride. The left-hander has hit sixes in back-to-back sets off Callum Parkinson and Lockie Ferguson. He then lofts Ferguson for another four to end the set.

He's unbeaten on 34 from 23 balls and Jason Roy has 21 off 20 balls.

  15. Invincibles 61-2published at 45 balls

She's had issues for England in the last 12 months, but Alice Capsey has looked somewhere back to her best this season for Oval Invincbles.

Her strike-rate this year in the Hundred, 161, is her highest for any edition of the competition.

  20. Invincibles 45-2published at 30 balls

Welsh Fire skipper Tammy Beaumont on the player mic: "I let Shabnim Ismail do the team talk today and get the girls fired up and boy, is she fired up!

"It's always tough as a captain when you're losing, you feel it's all your fault. You try and fix everything but you can't control everything as captain.

"You just have to trust in your players and trust that everyone's doing the best they can, which I have no doubt in that whatsoever."

On how to keep motivation: "It's about what characters you have. Hayley Matthews and Shabnim are easy to fire up so its about trying to galvanise them to get everyone else fired up."
