  1. 'Not ideal but we're getting over the line'published at 18:17 BST 13 October

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt: "Nerves are shot, that was a lot closer than we'd have liked it to be but glad we got it done in the end."

On bowling effort: "We tried to stay as patient as we could. Not leave the stumps. It was a bit frustrating that we weren't getting wickets early but they applied themselves well and set themselves up for the end.

"Shorna [Akter] batted really well there."

On Kapp and Tryon partnership: "Kappy and Chloe were amazing. Not the start we wanted but we were trying to be watchful and build a partnership. Unfortnately, we lost wickets early but that partnership got us back in the game then Nadine at the end."

On top-order collapses: "Not ideal but we're just getting over the line. There have been times in the past when we'd be on the other side of these close games.

"I'm sure there will be a game when our top-order fires."

  2. 'We should be proud and keep our heads high'published at 18:07 BST 13 October

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty: "First of all, I'm really proud of the way my girls fought until the last ball. I'm really happy with how they gave 110% and fought for every run. They're very emotional because they wanted this win."

On approach with the bat: "We have lost a lot of wickets in the powerplay so our plan was to avoid that. Maybe we were still 10-15 runs short and that could have been a big difference."

On Shorna Akter's half-century: "I have been talking about her for a long time. I know the potential she has. The way she batted today was a show that we were all enjoying."

On bowling attack: "When we took five wickets early, against England we didn't bowl in the right areas after 30 overs but today was different.

"We have a good bowling side, unfortunately something happened in the game but it's a good experience. This side is very young.

"My message to them is 'be proud of how you have done, this is not the last game we're going to play'. We should be proud and keep our heads high."

  3. 'A little bit nerve-wracking'published at 17:56 BST 13 October

Player of the match, South Africa's Chloe Tryon: "I've got no words actually. We wanted to take it as deep as well could and have Nadine [de Klerk] at the back end to do what she does best. I'm just glad we got over the line.

"We were nice and calm out there, wanted to take it deep and hit the boundaries when we could.

"We kept it nice and simple and tried to tick it over when we could. Running hard between the wickets.

"A little bit nerve-wracking but we're going to enjoy this moment then a big game coming up."

  4. South Africa win by three wicketspublished at 49.3 overs
    Breaking

    SA 235-7 | Target 233

Nadine de Klerk finishes it in style!

Full toss and she clobbers it high over the leg side for six.

Bangladesh won't be quite able to believe that one. They took it so close but dropped catches cost them dear.

South Africa show their resilience once more.

  5. SA 229-7published at 49.2 overs

    Target 233

    Dot ball!

    It's four from four balls...

  6. SA 229-7published at 49.1 overs

    Target 233

    Sliced over point for four!

Nadine de Klerk has put South Africa on the brink again.

Four more needed from five balls.

  7. dropped catch

De Klerk dropped on 26published at 49 overs

    SA 225-7 | Target 233

    That is the moment!

What did I just say about luck and Nadine de Klerk?!

She skies another one and this should be a simple catch for Shorna Akter at long-off - but it's dropped!

Unbelievable. The star with the bat for Bangladesh makes a crucial error in the field.

South Africa need eight from six balls to win. De Klerk is on strike.

  8. SA 223-7published at 48.3 overs

    Target 233

The luck is with Nadine de Klerk it seems!

She skies a full toss but somehow the ball lands safely in a gap and South Africa run a single.

There was nearly a mix-up with Klaas turning to come back for two but she was sent back and makes her ground.

  9. SA 220-7published at 48 overs

    Target 233

Nahida Akter continues but the left-arm spinner can't keep Masabata Klaas on strike, single first ball.

But Nadine de Klerk takes one next ball and it takes a risky single to get her back on strike.

Oh dear, loose from Nahida and Klaas is able to guide the full toss down to fine leg for four.

Dot ball to finish but De Klerk will be on strike with South Africa needing 13 from 12 balls.

  10. SA 212-7published at 47 overs

    Target 233

It's Nadine de Klerk time again!

Having turned down a single to keep strike for the start of this over, the South Africa all-rounder moves across her stumps and thumps the ball down to fine leg for four.

It gets worse for Bangladesh because Fahima Khatun oversteps - no-ball, free hit... and De Klerk lofts the free hit high over the covers for four more.

Decent finish to the over from Khatun so South Africa need 21 from 18 balls with Masabata Klaas on strike.

  11. wicket

Tryon run out!published at 45 overs

    SA 198-7 | Target 233

Another big twist in this match!

South Africa try to pinch a single when Nadine de Klerk drops the ball down towards backward point but Ritu Moni swoops and throws down the stumps!

Chloe Tryon is gone by a couple of inches and just as it looked like the Proteas were going to cruise home, the game is back in the balance.

South Africa need 35 from 30 balls to win.

  12. dropped catch

Tryon, dropped on 46, reaches 50published at 44 overs

    SA 196-6 | Target 233

How big a moment could this be?!

Chloe Tryon doesn't get hold of a slog-sweep off Rabeya Khan, the ball flies out to deep mid-wicket but sub fielder Soumya Akter drops the catch as goes to her right... not only that, the ball rolls away for four.

That brings up Tryon's half-century from 64 balls. A vital knock for South Africa.

And the next ball is launched over the ropes for six! A terrible couple of balls for Bangladesh.

Another misfield and another boundary to end the over. Suddenly it's down to 37 needed from 36 balls for the Proteas.

  13. wicket

South Africa six down as Kapp fallspublished at 41 overs

    SA 164-6 | Target 233

Marizanne Kapp lets out a cry of anguish as she holes out!

Nahida Akter makes the breakthrough for Bangladesh and, with 69 still needed, South Africa are six down.

Big moment in the game, the required rate is up to 7.67 an over as the hero of the Proteas' win over India, Nadine de Klerk, joins Chloe Tryon in the middle.

  14. SA 162-5published at 40 overs

    Target 233

No wickets but an excellent spell for Bangladesh. They've really tightened things up.

    Well, they had...

But after four overs without a boundary, Shorna Akter serves up a juicy full toss that Marizanne Kapp demolishes over cow corner for six to reach her half-century!

That opens the floodgates and two balls later, Kapp paddles sweeps fine for four.

It is still all to play for going into the last 10 overs, though. After a risky single to end the over, South Africa need 71 from 60 balls.

A better throw and Kapp would have been gone.

  15. SA 133-5published at 34 overs

    Target 233

A maiden from medium-pacer Ritu Moni means the required rate for South Africa ticks above a run-a-ball.

With drinks being taken, the equation for the Proteas is now 100 from 96 balls. Five wickets remaining and Nadine de Klerk, the star of the show in the dramatic win over India, still to come.

This one looks to be going down to the wire!

  16. Postpublished at 16:26 BST 13 October

    Henry Moeran
    BBC commentator in Visakhapatnam

Though there may feel like a lack of intensity, this partnership is the game and crowd here recognise that. Every dot is applauded, every scrambled two is roared on.

  17. SA 118-5published at 30 overs

    Target 233

Is this the start of another South Africa comeback?

Seamer Marufa Akter is brought back on and repeatedly serves up width to a delighted Chloe Tryon, who twice thrashes the ball to the off-side boundary.

It's 12 from that over and Tryon adds another boundary with a well-placed sweep off Nahida Akter.

Bangladesh need to hold their nerve but that would be much more difficult without their captain and wicketkeeper Nigar Sultana Joty, who receives some treatment from the physio.

She seems OK to continue. Good news for Bangladesh but what they really want is to break this partnership.

  18. Jafta falls as Bangladesh take controlpublished at 25 overs

    SA 89-5 | Target 233

Halfway through the innings and Bangladesh are halfway through this South Africa line-up.

Sinalo Jafta is the latest Protea to fall, bowled by Fahima Khatun with a ball that skids on and just brushes the top corner of off stump to dislodge the bails.

Marizanne Kapp and Chloe Tryon will try to rebuild and South Africa at least have recent experience of being in a spot of bother not dissimilar to this against India.

Can Bangladesh do what India couldn't?

  19. Proteas four down and in real troublepublished at 20 overs

    SA 71-4 | Target 233

Well, well, well - this is getting very interesting!

Having run out her captain, Anneke Bosch throws her wicket away in the next over, trying to hit Ritu Moni over the top and skewing the ball to mid-off.

Nahida Akter then gets through a brilliant over, ripping the ball past the bat time and again.

With South Africa already wobbling, leg-spinner Rabeya Khan produces a beauty!

Drift in to Annerie Dercksen then just enough turn to beat the outside edge and hit the top of off. Keep that out...
