England's chase of 69 was tough and they never really got going. Phil Salt was caught at fine leg first ball. Jos Buttler hit three sixes in his 25 but the rest all fell away without really threatening.

  4. 'It feels like madness'published at 22:31 BST 10 September

South Africa captain Aiden Markram speaking at the post-match presentation: "The way things unfolded, it was a hurry up and wait day and then suddenly you're in the battle.

"It feels like madness, but you can think about things. It was swinging about with the new ball, but you need one or two guys to make a cameo and you can reach a good score.

"Kesh [Maharaj] was going to play but tweaked his groin, Corbin Bosch came in, he was meant to get a rest today but it's only a couple of overs."

  5. 'We didn't execute as well as we could have done'published at 22:29 BST 10 September

England captain Harry Brook on Sky Sports: "We can't read into that too much. There was a lot going on. It was very wet. We didn't execute as well as we could have done."

On whether he felt the outfield was fit for play: "That is for the big dogs above me. We have just got to go out and perform as best we can.

"Luke Wood always gets wickets in the first over. He is an amazing attribute for us."

  6. 'Hitting the ball where it's meant to be hit'published at 22:28 BST 10 September

Player of the match Donovan Ferreira speaking at the post-match presentation: "I think reduced games can go any way. We put a good score on the table and the guys got us over the line.

"Coming into this series and have impact in the series is nice for me.

"I wasn't really thinking about the shorter boundaries, just hitting the ball where it's meant to be hit. I think sometimes you can get sucked into that, it wasn't something I was consciously thinking about.

"The coach has given me freedom, I've been playing good cricket and it's more opportunity to show what I can do."

It's a bit of a strange game really.

This has been just awful from England, even in a ridiculous five-over game. They’ve just watched South Africa score by playing straight from coming down the pitch against pace, and then proceeded to do absolutely anything but.

South Africa almost have it in the bag.

The fact that Corbin Bosch and Marco Jansen have been allowed to bowl two overs in each in a five-over innings doesn't make much sense to me.
