They would like one or two more boundaries after this start and when you are playing against the best team in the tournament so far, you know you need a good score, around 120-130 to put the Brave under pressure and it all comes down to partnerships.

  2. Spirit 30-1published at 30 balls

Sophie Devine sends down a couple of wides in her second set of five deliveries - with the Spirit hustling through an extra run off one of them - but only three more come off the bat.

Spirit going at a run a ball, almost a third of the way through the innings.

  3. Superchargers seize control in powerplaypublished at 25 balls

Men's competition: Northern Superchargers 49-0 against Oval Invincibles

At Headingley in the men's competition, Northern Superchargers have began their penultimate group fixture against Oval Invincibles with real intent.

Zak Crawley has led their charge with some very aggressive batting, including dispatching Jordan Clark for consecutive sixes to close out the third set.

He is unbeaten on 35 from 18 balls while opening partner Dawid Malan is on 11 at the end of powerplay.

There is no surprise that the Braves have started so well, they are the team in form and it's been Lauren Bell and that was her 15th wicket now.

  5. Spirit 24-1published at 25 balls

Lauren Bell back to finish off the powerplay - can she pick up a second wicket?

    Not on this occasion.

Cordelia Griffith judges her first delivery well and guides it through third for four.

The Southern Brave bowling attack has been a class apart, picking up 51 wickets this season (excluding run outs) - 11 more than the next-placed team.

Their average of 11.7 runs per dismissal is the best along with their economy rate of just 5.2 runs per set.

Three of the top four wicket-takers this season are Southern Brave bowlers – Lauren Bell with 15, Sophie Devine with 11, and Tilly Corteen-Coleman with 10.

  7. Spirit 18-1published at 20 balls

Tilly Corteen-Coleman, on her 18th birthday, is the fourth bowler for Brave.

Georgia Redmayne whips her third ball away with plenty of wrist, beating the sliding fielder on the mid-wicket boundary and picking up four.

Georgia Redmayne needs runs because she's struggled this season. She'll be feeling the pressure.

This is a gift really, Mady Villiers dropping it too short and all the time in the world to place into the leg side boundary.

  10. Spirit 13-1published at 15 balls

Spin early doors as Mady Villiers comes into the attack for Brave.

Her first delivery drifts down and Georgia Redmayne strikes it through square for four.

Redmayne has been a bit of lean trot in this tournament - her 29 against Superchargers on Wednesday is a her top score, after previously not getting past 11 in five matches.

If the Southern Brave notch up a win today, they will equal the record for most wins in a row (7) in the women’s Hundred, set by them in 2023, where they won seven in a row, including the final to lift the trophy.

  12. Spirit 6-1published at 10 balls

Just one scoring shot off Sophie Devine's first set of five deliveries, with Cordelia Griffith lifting the ball over point for the game's first four.

Southern Brave are one of those teams, even though they finished bottom last year, they're feared around the circuit because of their ability to take wickets.

  14. Spirit 2-1published at 5 balls

    Cordelia Griffith in for Spirit.

She strikes her first ball to a fielder in the covers.

Here comes Sophie Devine for Brave.

It is a simple one for Mady Villiers and it didn't bounce as much as Kira Chathli expected as she was trying to hit it to the shorter boundary and it is six wickets in the powerplay for Lauren Bell.

A 15th wicket of the season for Lauren Bell!

After starting the season so well, it's a second early dismissal for Spirit opener Kira Chathli after she made a duck against Superchargers on Wednesday.

A bit of an odd shot, going after the ball outside off and scooping the ball to Mady Villiers at mid-wicket.

Two quality teams and especially Brave who have been on fire and they can go straight to the final with a win today and no wonder they are smiling.

    Here we go then.

Unsurprisingly Lauren Bell is going to open the bowling for Southern Brave, bowling to Kira Chathli.

Australian Georgia Redmayne is at the non-striker's end.

This should be a belter. Southern Brave haven't lost a game yet. They've been very strong throughout this season so far.

The London Spirit being at home, their chances of qualifying are very much alive, so it should be a belter today.
