Five Olympic champions have been named in Great Britain's squad for next month's UCI Track Cycling World Cup at London's Lee Valley VeloPark.

Laura Trott, Phil Hindes, Jason Kenny, Steve Burke and Joanna Rowsell will return to the scene of their 2012 wins.

Sir Bradley Wiggins, who won silver at the Commonwealth Games, has said he plans to return to the track in time for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

But Wiggins has not been selected for the event which runs from 5-7 December.

Reigning Olympic and European team pursuit champion Ed Clancy has only been named as a non-travelling reserve.

Ahead of the second World Cup of the season, British Cycling technical director Shane Sutton said: "The home round of the World Cup series is a competition the whole team looks forward to.

Great Britain finished the first World Cup of the season, which took place in Mexico earlier this month, with four medals. The men's team sprint and women's team pursuit outfits won gold while the men's team pursuit squad and Jason Kenny in the men's individual sprint won silver.

"The fact that this event is taking place in the Lee Valley VeloPark makes this event extra special for us.

"The crowd support during London 2012 was phenomenal and gave the team a huge lift so hopefully the public will get behind us once again and support us on our journey to Rio."

It has been reported that Wiggins,, external 34, who is in the process of setting up a development, external team with Team Sky for next year, will rejoin the Great Britain squad after the Spring Classics next season ahead of his bid for gold in Rio.

Meanwhile, Olympic track champion Dani King has been released from hospital and is recovering at home following her crash earlier this month.

The 23-year-old suffered five broken ribs and a collapsed lung and spent two nights in intensive care immediately following the crash in training.
