Mark Cavendish and Iljo Keisse win Zurich Six Days event

Mark Cavendish said he was proud of his Omega Pharma-Quick-Step team-mate Iljo Keisse after winning track cycling's Zurich Six Days event.

The pair went one better than their second place in Gent a week earlier following a thrilling final Madison.

The Omega duo finished 21 points ahead of Silvan Dillier and Leif Lampater, with their Gent conquerors Kenny De Ketele and Jasper De Buyst third.

Cavendish's victory came nine years after his first Six Days success.

He said on Twitter:, external "A great race with great fans. Proud of my friend and team-mate."

The 29-year-old Manxman is due to begin his 2015 season at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina on 19 January.
