British riders won two bronze medals on the penultimate day of the European Track Championships in Switzerland.

Jon Dibben's gutsy ride in the scratch race, the final discipline of the six-race omnium, won him bronze, while Chris Latham was third in the elimination race.

Laura Trott is in pole position to win her third title of the championships after dominating day one of the omnium.

The Olympic omnium champion won two of the three races to lead overnight.

Trott, 23, won the individual pursuit and elimination race and finished second in the scratch race to lead Amalie Dideriksen of Denmark by 12 points at the halfway stage.

She will compete in the 500m time trial, flying lap and points race on Sunday.

Dibben's bronze was his second medal of the championships, to add to the gold he won in the team pursuit.
