Daniel Halksworth will compete in his fourth sport at an Island Games after being selected as part of Jersey's road race cycling team for Gotland 2017.

The former professional Ironman racer has already been selected to defend the triathlon gold he won in 2015.

He also competed in the 10,000m at the last Island Games.

He won eight Island Games gold medals as a swimmer and represented Jersey at that sport, and in triathlon, at the 2006 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Jersey's women's team will be without Kim Ashton - who won gold in every event she entered in 2015 - after she announced in October that she would not be going to Gotland.

Men's road race: Howard Greenside, Dan Halksworth, Sam Firby, Jack Rebours, Chris Spence

Women's road race: Flo Cox, Emily Le Beuvant, Clare Treharne, Sabine Minchington-Gilley

Men's mountain bike: Rhys Hidrio, Olliver Lowthorpe, Luc Le Brun, James Patterson, James Dilks

Women's mountain bike: Lisa Mansell, Indie Malzard, Jemima Leach, Helene Mon Petit, Laura Chellingworth
