    Ben Healy was flying on the second time check, a couple of seconds up on Victor Campenaerts but the Irishman has let it drift and crosses the finish seven seconds down in third.

    Tom Pidcock is almost a minute down on Victor Campenaerts at the first time check.

    He will not be troubling the time keepers later although Geraint Thomas might. The 2018 Tour de France champion looks like is all in and only a couple of seconds or so down at the first check.

    There are three time checks along the route on stage seven.

    The first arrives after 8.6km, the second at the crest of the climb at 14.4km and a third on Morey-Saint-Denis with 6.4km to race.

    British rider Fred Wright has just called the fan-lined route "lovely" and says it's a joy to see so many people out on the roadside.

    He has a legion of fans in what is basically a home stage and even stops while being serenaded to hug his wife and his son. Remarkable scenes.
