    British rider Oscar Onley fell away from the yellow jersey group on the climb to finish 14th.

    The 22-year-old Scot lost 36 seconds to third-placed Florian Lipowitz while Primoz Roglic closed the gap, but Onley remains fourth, with the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team-mates either side of him in the general classification standings.

    Ben Healy's late effort was enough to send the Irishman back above Carlos Rodriguez to ninth overall.

    Jonas Vingegaard added: "I was feeling very good today. I was happy with the feeling today and with the attacks that I tried to do. Of course, I didn't gain any time today but I take a lot of motivation [from it].

    "We wanted to have somebody in the break. The team did amazing today. Everybody worked with everything they had. It was real commitment from everyone so thank you to all my team-mates.

    "[Pogacar] followed me every time I attacked and I followed him when he attacked, so I don't know if I saw any weaknesses. At least it gives me some motivation. I will keep trying."

    Valentin Paret-Peintre claims his first stage win... and we have our first French winner on this year's Tour.

    He said: "How I won that stage is hard to say. I was thinking 'maybe I can win today, maybe I'm the best climber in this breakaway'.

    "I asked my team-mates to make a good pace at the bottom and I tried so many times to drop [Ben] Healy but he was very strong and at the end, I was just waiting for the sprint."

    The 24-year-old is also the third Soudal Quick-Step rider to claim a win this year after Tim Merlier (two wins) and Remco Evenepoel (one).
