Stephen Bunting is a real crowd favourite and few would begrudge him a chance to win the biggest prize in darts on Friday.

Bunting switched to the PDC circuit soon after winning the BDO version of the world title in 2014, but he had to wait a decade for his first televised PDC major victory, winning the Masters in February.

He will defend that title in Milton Keynes later this month.

Luke Littler still has business to attend to tonight (and probably tomorrow, it looks like) but it won't be long before he starts the defence of his Premier League Darts title.

The 17-year-old won the event on debut in May and will be among the field when the 2025 event gets under way in Belfast on 6 February.

In each of the 16 nights of action during the league phase, eight players take part in a tournament to crown a "nightly" winner. League points are allocated to each player, depending on how far they progress.

When the league stage concludes, the top four in the table will go through to the semi-finals at London's 02 Arena on 29 May, with the champion crowned later that evening.

The eight-player line-up will be announced during January, most likely in the days after the World Championship final.

Littler has this tonight. He takes out the finishes in the big moments and I know it’s early, but I think Bunting has already missed too many big moments.
