    • The reigning champion went out in the last 16.
    • Christian Kist and Damon Heta hit nine-dart finishes.
    • Teenage sensation Luke Littler made another deep run at Ally Pally.

  3. What is the format?published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Semi-finals (Thursday) - best of 11 sets

Final (Friday) - best of 13 sets

    Tie-breaks

The deciding set must be won by two clear legs. If the score in the final set reaches 5-5, then a sudden-death leg will be played. There would be no throw for the bull in any sudden-death legs.

There's no defending champion in action - Luke Humphries went out in the last 16 - but there's a very nice mix of players on show in our two semi-finals.

First up, former Masters winner Chris Dobey makes his first appearance in a World Championship semi-final against the three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen.

Following that, reigning Masters champion Stephen Bunting aims to reach his first Ally Pally final against teenage superstar Luke Littler, who fell one step short of becoming world champion at the age of 16 a year ago.
