Luke Humphries has just upped a gear in the last few sets and he's left Danny Noppert struggling well behind him in almost every leg.

A very comfortable 16-dart leg for Humphries on his own throw under no pressure leaves him just one away from making the final.

  4. Humphries hits againpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 3-2 Noppert (1-0)

Another leg for Luke Humphries and it's crucially against the darts so he'll throw for the set now after hitting double nine to win the leg.

Danny Noppert did get a look at a 108 finish but messed it up, leaving Humphries to win it in 13 darts.

  6. Humphries leads in setspublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 3-2 Noppert

It's not even close in the end as Luke Humphries hits double 18 at the second attempt to lead in sets for the first time. Danny Noppert was miles behind stranded on 281 and he loses that decider in a whimper.

    Humphries 2-2 Noppert (1-1)

A nice settler for Danny Noppert after losing five legs on the spin, and he levels up this set meaning we're all square. A big leg coming up now with Luke Humphries throwing first.

  9. Humphries ahead for the first timepublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 2-2 Noppert (1-0)

A miss at double 10 but Luke Humphries' scoring is too heavy for Danny Noppert to even stay in touch so the world number one can come back and hit double five for a 13-darter to go ahead in the match for the first time.

Humphries is finding that spell and is dangerous once he gets his doubles right.

  11. Luke levels the matchpublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 2-2 Noppert

A first 180 for Luke Humphries followed by 140 and 137 put him in total control, but he misses another five darts at double before eventually hitting to level the match at 2-2.

He's still not happy with his doubling though...

  12. Humphries starts in stylepublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 1-2 Noppert (1-0)

That's a bit more like it! Luke Humphries hits a 128 finish on the bull to clinch his first break of throw. A remarkable checkout considering how bad his finishing was in those first three sets.

  13. Doubles the differencepublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 1-2 Noppert

Not much between the two so far - Danny Noppert averaging 89.16 to Luke Humphries' 92.77 and the Dutchman throwing the only 180 of the match so far.

Humphries has hit just two of 10 attempts at double though with Noppert successful in four of 12 - and that's the difference so far.

That scoreline looks a lot better for Humphries now. Is this the start of Cool Hand Luke's renaissance against Danny Noppert?

  15. Head-to-headpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 1-2 Noppert

    Humphries v Noppert

Luke Humphries leads the head-to-head 6-4 in his 10 meetings with Danny Noppert but it's the Dutchman who has the better checkout stats despite the Englishman a couple of points ahead on the averages.

With Luke Littler going out, world number one Humphries will really fancy his chances now, and after pulling it back to 2-1 he'll look to try and power ahead of Noppert after the break.

  16. Set for Humphriespublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 1-2 Noppert

Danny Noppert misses three darts at double, then busts his score when he needs five, hitting 18 instead of single one!

Luke Humphries steps up to hit single 20 and tops to get a set on the board - should really be 3-0 down the world number one but instead he's only 2-1 behind.

You can't let Cool Hand get out of jail that easily, Noppert could live to regret that visit.

  17. Humphries on the board!published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Humphries 0-2 Noppert (1-0)

There's an ironic lift of the hands from Luke Humphries as he finally wins his first leg of the match.
