Luke Humphries, when he is on, he is right up there with Luke Littler - no doubt about it.

I'm not saying they're going to rule the roost for a long time, but if they both carry on showing similar form, I just think they're going to have a monopoly of high-end darts for a while.

  2. Humphries doubles lead over Dobeypublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Humphries 2-0 Dobey

So far, it's not going to plan Chris Dobey.

Luke Humphries is not at his best so far, but a 140 gets him down to a finish first against the throw.

Humphries is left on a Shanghai 120 out, but can't land tops. He is allowed back though.

Dead centre in double 20, Humphries doubles his lead.

  3. Humphries takes opening legpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Humphries 1-0 Dobey

A scratchy start to this match, Chris Dobey is the first down to a finish, but only takes 40 out of 140.

Luke Humphries comes back to see off 57, but misses darts at double 20 and double 10.

Dobey sets up double 20, but won't come back as Humphries holds on double five.

  5. A memorable walk-on for Dobeypublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Humphries v Dobey (20:15 GMT)

My word, that is a special walk-on for Newcastle's Chris Dobey.

He walks out to "Local Hero", with Newcastle's players in attendance. An enormous Newcastle flag is flown among the crowd and there's more Newcastle flags beared on the stage.

Luke Humphries gets an enormous boo at first, but looks almost apologetic to be the man playing Dobey.

Humphries is then cheered along to "I Predict A Riot" on his way to the stage.

  6. 'The crowd will want Chris to win'published at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Humphries v Dobey (20:15 GMT)

World number one Luke Humphries, speaking to Sky Sports about facing home favourite Chris Dobey in Newcastle:

"When you walk up on the stage, sometimes you get support and sometimes you don't. Unfortunately it's going to be one of those occasions when I don't get it, but I just have to try to block that out and focus on my own game.

"In the past few weeks I've let some leads slip so now it's up to me to put that right. The crowd will want to Chris to win, but it's important for me to focus on my own game and try to get over the line."

Next up, world number one Luke Humphries is in action. He takes on Chris Dobey in tonight's third quarter-final.

Humphies has two night wins to his name, but has lost each of his past three quarter-final matches against Rob Cross, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen.

In Cardiff, Dobey ended a six-match losing streak by beating Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals before losing to Van Gerwen in the semis.

In the past two years, they have met four times. Humphries has won all four encounters, including Dobey's first two defeats of the season in Belfast and Glasgow.

  9. Price v Cross - the statspublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Result: Price 2-6 Cross

Rob Cross is the third player tonight to average three figures in the quarter-finals tonight.

Voltage averaged 100.87 per three darts in that match, as well as hitting two 180s and six of his 15 darts at a double.

Price averaged a rather low 86.17 and landed two of his nine darts at the double.

  10. Cross wins to set up Littler semi-finalpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Result: Price 2-6 Cross

That checkout from Rob Cross seems to have lit the flame inside him.

A 177 is backed up with a 134 to leave a visit at 50 for the match, and another break of throw.

An 18 sets up double 16, but both attempts are wide. He will come back, though.

One dart is all that is needed. A big win for Voltage.

Six quarter-final wins out of eight this season for Cross.

  11. Cross takes out 129 to go 5-2 up over Pricepublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 2-5 Cross

Better from Rob Cross. A 132 sets up 170, which he will get at least six darts at.

No luck of a repeat of last week, with Voltage only taking 41 out of it and Gerwyn Price sets up a 120.

Cross on 129 takes the lot!

Treble 19, double 18, double 18. An outstanding checkout.

  13. Price holds off Cross to halve deficitpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 2-4 Cross

Probably a bad time to remember (if you are Rob Cross) that Cross threw away a healthy lead against Gerwyn Price a week ago in Cardiff, and needed a 170 in the deciding leg to avoid a shock loss.

Price misses bull for a 90 out, but the Iceman will come back for 36.

In one, Price pins it for 4-2.

  14. Price breaks Cross with double one finishpublished at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 1-4 Cross

Gerwyn Price starts the fifth leg with his first 180 of the night.

The fourth dart also finds treble 20, but a single one ends any nine-dart hopes.

Rob Cross responds with a 180 to set up 155, which he will get six darts at.

The first three leave 96 and Price responds with a 140 to set up double 20.

Cross lands the perfect treble 20 but splits doubles 18 and nine in half.

Price goes one better, splitting tops, the 10s and the fives.

Cross sets up double four on his return but goes both sides of the wire.

Price does take the leg, eventually, on double one.

    Mark Webster

Back-to-back 6-0s to start things off in Newcastle?

There's real concern for Gerwyn Price now because he's 4-0 down and not playing well.

  16. Cross breaks Price again for 4-0 leadpublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 0-4 Cross

At 3-0 down, has the penny started to drop for Gerwyn Price?

He starts leg four by going 140, 139 and 98 to get down to 124 after nine darts.

Price can't get it to go, but will get a chance at 72.

Two 16s set up double 20, but Price goes low.

Cross, also needing 72, opts for a different route and takes the leg on double 16.

A break of throw and a 4-0 lead.

This is brilliant from Rob Cross.

A first 180 of the match sets up 42. Gerwyn Price is all the way back at 363.

A 10 sets up double 16 and even though Cross puts both his double attempts wide, he is likely to get as many darts as he wishes at it.

Voltage only needs one more. He leads 3-0.

  18. Cross breaks Price's throwpublished at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 0-2 Cross

Rob Cross is the man in control again in leg two.

He started very well when these two met a week ago.

Down to a finish first, Cross can't see off 72 and Gerwyn Price is on 102.

The first two darts leave double 20, but Price is well over the bar.

Cross takes out 49 in three darts at double 16 for a break of throw.

  19. Cross takes lead over Pricepublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 0-1 Cross

A commanding start for Rob Cross, who gets nine darts to see off 124 for a hold of throw.

88 with the first three sets up his trusty double 18.

Cross pins the 18s at the first time of asking for a 13-darter.

  20. Price v Cross under waypublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

    Price 0-0 Cross

New walk-on song klaxon! Gerwyn Price normally walks out to Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby," which makes sense when you have the nickname of The Iceman.

Tonight, he's walked out to a new song, "Nice To Meet You" by Myles Smith, to be exact.

Cross' 170 in the deciding leg against Price in Cardiff stunned the whole crowd last week. It came out of nowhere.

Will we see such drama here?

Cross to throw first, game on!
