  3. How do week eight's fixtures work?published at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

For regular fans of Premier League Darts, you might be thinking there is something a bit peculiar about this week's matches.

    Well, you would be right!

In this 16-week league format, each of the eight players have faced each other once so far in the quarter-finals. Week eight is a standalone week, based purely on league positions.

Top of the table faces bottom of the table, second faces second-bottom and so on.

After this week, the next seven weeks will be another round-robin where each player faces each other once more in the first round.

Week 16, the final regular week of the season, will emulate tonight's format.

The top four at the end of week 16 will qualify for the finals night, taking place on 29 May at London's O2 Arena.

After seven weeks of the Premier League Darts season, world champion Luke Littler has a six-point lead at the top of the table.

Two weeks of back-to-back quarter-final exits have seen Luke Humphries lose ground.

After reaching his first final of the season last week in Cardiff, Michael van Gerwen is up to third and has closed the gap on world number one Humphries.

Stephen Bunting is yet to win a single match in this season's competition.

  5. How does Premier League Darts work?published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 27 March

Every Thursday, the eight players go head-to-head in a straight knockout tournament. So, each player will be entered at the quarter-final stage, before moving to the semi-finals and then a final.

These matches are all played over the best of 11 legs.

Players take home points from each of these rounds. The winner of the night gets five points, the runner-up three points, and each semi-finalist wins two points.

All eight players are re-entered into the tournament for the next round on the following Thursday.

The players will meet each other once at the quarter-final stage from weeks one to seven, and then again in weeks nine to 15. The matches in weeks eight and 16 will be played based on position in the league at that point.

The four players at the top of the table by the end of night 16 qualify for the play-offs, which take place on Thursday, 29 May.

The semi-finals of the play-offs are played over 19 legs, while the winner is crowned in a final match played across the best of 21 legs.
