  6. Where is the Ally Pally?published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 30 December 2024

Alexandra Palace is situated in North London and has staged the PDC World Darts Championship every year since the 2008 edition, won by John Part of Canada.

Between 1994 and 2007, it was held at Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

The Ally Pally is also the home of snooker's Masters event, which is played every January.

Nathan Aspinall breezed into the quarter-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship with a comfortable 4-0 win over Ricardo Pietreczko.

The Englishman, seeded 12th, held steady at an average in the low 90s throughout the match - finishing on 94.28 - and his German opponent's struggles meant that was all that was required.

Pietreczko impressed in his 4-1 win over Scott Williams in the previous round but averaged just 78.46 in his first appearance in the last 16 at Alexandra Palace.

Meanwhile, Callan Rydz came out on top in a topsy-turvy contest against qualifier Robert Owen to make the quarters for the second time with a 4-3 win.

Chris Dobey set up a quarter-final against Wales' Gerwyn Price after a 4-3 win over Dutchman Kevin Doets.

    Let's. Play. Darts.

Yep, we're back again for another big, big night of arrows and if we get even half the drama we had last night, we're in for a cracker!

Luke Humphries is defending champion no more after Peter Wright rolled back the years to move into the quarter-finals.

Perhaps the only person happier about that result than Wright would be Luke Littler...

The teenager was set to face Humphries in the semis but that major hurdle has now been removed.

Littler still has two matches to win to get that far, of course, is back in action tonight when he will play Ryan Joyce in the evening's final match.

We've had two exciting games before that, though, starting with Stephen Bunting taking on Luke Woodhouse then three-time champion Michael van Gerwen up against Jeffrey de Graaf.
