It is hard to envisage that both will be brilliant or not so good for the entire there. There will be ebbs and flows.

Moments of brilliance will win legs and sets and maybe change the destiny of the match.

  3. Littler holds first legpublished at 20:26 BST

    Humphries 0-0 Littler (0-1)

A rusty start to this match on the doubles. Littler needs five darts and Humphries needs six just to get off the mark.

After a casual set up of 170 from Littler, he gets a go at 142 but narrowly misses out on a double 16 finish.

The Nuke comes back to pin it first time and take a lead.

My head says Littler, but my heart says Humphries tonight. I've nothing at all against Littler but I'd just like Humphries to win more now, as I think in a few more years it will become a one man show. I hope I'm wrong as it might become a little boring for the sport.

The time for talk is over. We are moments away from getting this final started.

Plenty of cheers for Luke Littler, who stops for almost everyone down the aisle on his way to the stage before a big cheer as he gets up there.

Less stops, but certainly a family feel to Luke Humphries.

The two Lukes hug on stage before Humphries orchestrates a rendition of 'I Predict A Riot'. Littler even sings along under his breath.

I said Luke Littler at the start and he's been a little bit more explosive. I'm going to say he'll win 6-4.

Under pressure these two players are the best, there is no doubt about it.

That could carry on for years and years, we'll have to see.

But, give them a chance and they will take it. It is incredible what they both do.

It is ridiculous to think we're getting to the numbers we are with these two.

Two years ago Luke Humphries didn't have a major and Luke Littler didn't have a tour card. Now they are the biggest rivalry in the sport.

There's also the sub-plot of them competing for the world number one spot.

I can't see one of these running away with it.

They won't fear each other. I just want them to play a good, quick, open game.
