Summary

  1. Goodbye!published at 23:20 British Summer Time

Thank you for joining us for another breathtaking night of Premier League Darts. We will certainly be sleeping well after that, just watching it was exhausting.

We'll be back next Thursday for coverage of the final night in the league phase. For now, here's our report on events in Aberdeen.

    See you next week!

  2. Match of the nightpublished at 23:17 British Summer Time

No question as to what the best game of the evening was. Luke Littler and Luke Humphries served up a stunner.

Humphries hit nine maximums to his opponent's five, but he could not halt Littler's charge.

In a match that finished in under 12 minutes, there were a total of 40 100-plus visits. Humphries began by hitting six perfect darts, while Littler needed just 10 to win the third leg.

If you get a chance, watch the highlights. You will not be disappointed.

  3. What about van Gerwen?published at 23:15 British Summer Time

Now down in that dreaded fifth spot, Michael van Gerwen remains without a night win in 2025 and in serious danger of missing out on the play-offs for only the second time.

His only absence from the finals since his debut season in 2013 came in 2020 when he finished sixth in the table.

While he matched Nathan Aspinall with a 97 average and 42% checkout in their quarter-final tonight, the Englishman got to the double twice as many times.

Better needed from MVG when they do battle again in Sheffield next week.

  4. Premier League tablepublished at 23:13 British Summer Time

    Here's those all important standings.

Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price are through.

Chris Dobey, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting are out.

Either Nathan Aspinall or Michael van Gerwen can seal the fourth and final spot in the play-offs - and they meet next week.

    Mouthwatering.

  6. Postpublished at 23:08 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

Reflecting a little more on tonight's final - after such high quality play throughout the night, it was a bit of a damp squib.

Just the seven 180s, while Chris Dobey could not find his range at the doubles - he hit just one of 12 chances, an 8% conversion rate. Nowhere near good enough.

Neither made a three-figure checkout, and Aspinall was able to win while averaging 92.77.

As a result, that means Chris Dobey can officially no longer reach the play-offs. It is a straight shoot out between Aspinall and van Gerwen for the last slot.

  7. Postpublished at 23:05 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

A reminder that Nathan Aspinall has finished fifth in the last two Premier League seasons.

He, more than anyone, will be desperate to make that next step.

  8. 'It's in my hands'published at 23:03 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

More from Nathan Aspinall, on his winner-takes-all clash against Michael van Gerwen next week: "All I have said to my family, I don't want to come fifth again. I've put one foot in the final, I play Michael again next week and the pressure is on him.

"It's a do or die game. I save myself three hours of misery if I can beat him, at 8pm I'm going to the O2 which is a dream of mine. It's in my hands."

  9. Next week's fixturespublished at 22:59 British Summer Time

Here's how they will line up in the quarter-finals at Sheffield next Thursday.

Nathan Aspinall v Michael van Gerwen is second up. If Aspinall wins that he joins Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price in the play-offs.

If not, he faces a very nervous wait to see if Van Gerwen can triumph on the night and snatch back fourth spot.

    Night 16 quarter-final line-up

Nathan Aspinall v Michael van Gerwen

    Luke Humphries v Rob Cross

  10. 'I've not played amazing - but I have been composed'published at 22:56 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

Night 15 winner Nathan Aspinall, speaking to Sky Sports: "I felt very confident coming into tonight, I bottled it last week but tonight is a new night. I was really composed against Michael [van Gerwen], and he said my finishing was fantastic. But I knew it was nothing without the next game.

"I've not played amazing tonight, but I have been composed. I've not celebrated, I've stayed in the moment. And my finishing has been bang on tonight."

  11. Postpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

It is a very simple equation next week in Sheffield - if Michael van Gerwen wins the night, he progresses to the play-offs.

If he does not, Nathan Aspinall goes through.

We will bring you the full table shortly.

  12. ASPINALL WINS NIGHT 15published at 22:50 British Summer Time
    Breaking

    Aspinall 6-1 Dobey

Aspinall dips under double tops, however Dobey's head is gone. He grins ruefully and busts.

Aspinall finally finishes this match with D10, and is on the verge of the play-offs.

  13. Postpublished at 22:49 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 5-1 Dobey

A belated 180 from Dobey, the seventh of this match. He's not brought his A-Game to this final.

Aspinall with 134 to win - but he's wide of the mark.

That leaves Dobey requiring 58, however he bows his head after missing out.

    Aspinall needs 78...

  14. Aspinall breakspublished at 22:47 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 5-1 Dobey

Chris Dobey realistically needs to win this leg, but is put under severe pressure by an Aspinall 180.

Dobey cant find a 138 checkout, with Aspinall only needing 41 - but once again that D16 is tricksy for these men, he misses twice.

Dobey gets it badly wrong... but Aspinall misses three at doubles... then Dobey busts out! This is not high quality darts, but it is dramatic.

Eventually, Aspinall takes the leg, breaking Dobey again and moving one leg from victory.

  15. Postpublished at 22:44 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 4-1 Dobey

Chris Dobey knows he has nothing to lose, he chucks in another 180 at the start of leg five.

Both men get to 100+ checkout chances, neither can make it on their first attempts.

Dobey can win this leg on 110 - but he misses D16 once again!

Aspinall cleans up 65 - ending with D16, a particular sickener for Dobey.

The Asp has the match in his grasp.

  16. Aspinall breaks againpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 3-1 Dobey

In that last leg, Nathan Aspinall hit three treble ones for a visit of nine. You'd be embarrassed about that down the pub. At least Aspinall took it in good humour, with a grin to the crowd.

No grins here though as both men exchange 180s, before Aspinall narrowly misses a 96 finish.

But Dobey is off target twice at D16, allowing Aspinall to make the third successive break in this match.

  17. Dobey breaks backpublished at 22:39 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 2-1 Dobey

This rare Luke-free final is shaping up to be a titanic tussle. So much on the line for both men.

Chris Dobey hits a maximum to get to an 84 finish with Aspinall miles back, and he sees it out to break back.

  18. Aspinall breakspublished at 22:37 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 2-0 Dobey

Nathan Aspinall means business. He throws the first 180 of this match.

Taking his time, he sets up a checkout of 89 against the head. T19, miss at D16 - then plumb on target.

    Aspinall in command.

  19. Postpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 1-0 Dobey

Nathan Aspinall gets to a checkout first, he needs 70 - and finds it with ease.

    Great start under pressure.

  20. Postpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time

    Aspinall 0-0 Dobey

This brilliant night of Premier League Darts is at its climax. Has this been the best evening of the 2025 competition? You can decide that among yourselves.

Aspinal to throw first in the final.
