Gerwyn Price will receive a second set of 18 carat solid gold darts from tournament sponsors BetMGM for hitting a nine-darter. They are worth a cool £30,000.

A huge celebration, and a grin and a handshake from Stephen Bunting.

Even the crowd cheered Price for that one.

Gerwyn Price does look a bit tetchy tonight. Maybe he's not enjoying the villain role quite so much.

Stephen Bunting meanwhile is aiming to compose himself after a disappointing leg seven, and sets up a finish with Price way behind.

D16 - at the third time of asking - puts him one leg from the semis.

Gerwyn Price has a 29% hit rate at doubles in this match. Even though qualification is secured, he will be disappointed by his display so far in Aberdeen.

Stephen Bunting meanwhile is playing with freedom, setting up a 76 checkout for the double break.

He undercooks his arrow at tops though, leaving Price needing 150 - and he tries to hit three bulls! Showboating!

It works, as Bunting can't finish and Price nips in to reduce the gap to one.

How can Gerwyn Price respond? Throwing 180 on his first visit of leg six is a good start.

He's in a good position to break back as he makes a finish first, 72 - but a couple of sloppy darts sees him miss D10.

Bunting needs 71 to punish Price, and does so! Break consolidated.

I believe Stephen Bunting has shown more strength mentally than anyone in the Premier League. After losing for eight weeks running, it would have been so easy to roll over. We've not had that for a millisecond.

When this campaign does end for him, I hope he looks back and thinks that was a good effort.

Gerwyn Price has comparatively little to play for tonight, although he can seal a third place finish here.

He's being kept on his toes by Stephen Bunting, who reaches a 104 finish - however a single five with his first dart puts the kybosh on that.

Bunting looked furious, but Price is unable to punish him and the Englishman hits D10 to stay on par.

This match is going firmly to the throw so far, as Price gets to a 73 check out with Bunting nowhere.

The Welshman sees it out, and gives his trademark roar.

Stephen Bunting hits T20 with his first four darts as anticipation grows of a fifth nine-darter this season - but he narrowly misses with arrow number five.

However the Liverpudlian still sees out the leg, and we are all square.

Stephen Bunting has been bottom of the table since week two. He'd love to record a couple more wins in this season, to potentially move some spots up the table.

It'll be tough here though - Price records a 180, before Bunting gets two treble 20 then sends dart three into the stem of an earlier arrow! How's your luck?

Price then tries to hit 25 to set up a check-out, but hits the bull. An odd opening leg this.

Both men then miss a few doubles before Price hits D3 to get on the scoreboard first.

A few boos for Gerwyn Price, but he responds with a grin, applause and his usual sinew-stretching fist pump and roar. He's used to playing the panto villain.

Stephen Bunting is the crowd favourite meanwhile. The saddest thing about his early exit this year? We will only get to see his walk-on once more after tonight.
