Alfreton promotion wait goes on after Harrogate draw

Alfreton Town will have to wait to clinch promotion to Blue Square Bet Premier after a 1-1 draw at Harrogate.

Anthony Wilson gave the visitors the lead before Graeme Armstrong equalised for the hosts in the second half.

Alfreton can now secure their promotion at home against relegated Redditch on Saturday having missed the chance to seal the title for the second time.

In-form Harrogate remain in 12th spot but their impressive unbeaten run now stretches to 10 matches.

Reds boss Nicky Law told BBC Radio Derby: "On reflection, I think it was possibly two points dropped. It was a poor goal we gave away.

"We're disappointed but they are the home team. They had a go and put us under pressure but I never thought we were in too much danger.

"It's disappointing but we are a point closer and we now just have to get a point from three games and it's all done. Hopefully we can get that point at home on Saturday [against Redditch]."
