Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox has completed his backroom staff by recruiting midfielder Andy Todd from Eastwood Town as player-coach.

Former Nottingham Forest trainee Todd, 32, has a wealth of experience in the area having played for Worksop, Hucknall and Eastwood.

Todd has also played for Burton Albion, Accrington Stanley, and Rotherham.

Cox said: "Knowing Andrew, he'll want to be in the first XI every week. He is a competitor and a winner."

Having last week named Micky Moore as assistant manager, external, Cox is thrilled to have finalised his coaching line-up.

"I would be surprised if Andrew isn't one of the fittest players in pre-season training," said Cox. "He looks after himself immaculately.

"He won this league five or six years ago with Accrington and will be a great addition to the backroom staff, as well as the squad."
