Truro City manager Lee Hodges says his aim for the club's first season in the Conference South is simply to avoid relegation.

City's first fixture is an away trip to Chelmsford City on 13 August, before their opening home game against Eastleigh three days later.

"It's about consolidation this season," Hodges told BBC Sport.

"First and foremost we don't want to get relegated, and then we'll try to find out what the league is all about."

The reality of a fifth promotion in six seasons has started to sink in to Hodges and his Treyew Road outfit.

He said: "Now that the fixtures have come out it feels like 'Yes, we are in the Conference'.

"But the first three games alone are very difficult games and it's a case of 'Welcome to the Conference!'.

Hodges is under no illusion how difficult it will be to continue his club's rapid rise up the football pyramid.

"Truro has never been at this level before, and if you see a lot of signings going around lately they're a lot of league players who are coming down to play at this league.

"I think we're going into the unknown a little bit, but it'll be an enjoyable journey for everyone," he added.
