Lowestoft Town boss hits out at Yeovil over Haynes-Brown

Lowestoft Town joint-manager Ady Gallagher has criticised Yeovil for the manner of defender Curtis Haynes-Brown's trial at Huish Park.

Gallagher has said the Glovers did not contact Lowestoft directly about their intention to look at the 22-year-old.

Haynes-Brown featured in Yeovil's 3-1 friendly win over Poole on Tuesday.

"We're a little bit disappointed that things weren't done in a more professional way by a professional club," he told BBC Radio Suffolk.

The defender has already been trialled by Crewe this summer, but failed to earn a deal with Dario Gradi's team.

The former Colchester trainee and Sudbury full-back made 17 appearances in the Ryman Premier League last season, as Lowestoft were beaten in the play-off final by Tonbridge Angels.

"We never stand in anyone's way but I think professional clubs have a responsibility to go about things in a right and proper way," Gallagher added.

"If they had an interest in Curtis they should have contacted us before making arrangements for him to go there on trial.

"I think they should have a bit more respect for clubs at our level and treat us with the same courtesy that they would treat a Manchester United.

"It's fantastic Curtis is getting a lot of attention and we hope it works out for him.

"But if not, he's still under contract with Lowestoft Town and if it doesn't happen we'll welcome him back with open arms."

Meanwhile, Gallagher will hold talks about a possible deal with former Histon full-back Erkan Okay, who has been on trial at Crown Meadow this summer.
