Harrogate Town's new signing Danny Stimpson is to have a scan on an injury picked up in pre-season at Spennymoor.

The extent of the problem will not be known until the club get the scan results but manager Simon Weaver said he might have to look at finding cover.

Weaver told BBC Radio York, external: "That's a real loss to us because he's such a good signing for us.

"If Danny is out for a considerable amount of time we may have to bolster the ranks there."

The centre-half joined Harrogate Town last week after returning to England following a spell playing in Sweden.

Meanwhile Weaver said his squad is not yet complete.

He added: "I'm still looking for another forward and we've got Lee Elam to look at further.

"We've not finished it yet. That's why we left some money in the kitty because we wanted to make sure we didn't spend it all in the close season because of occasions such as this."
