Chris Sharp hit a late equaliser as AFC Telford United come from behind to claim a derby draw at Kidderminster.

Harriers made a terrible start, Telford old boy Lee Vaughan blasting a second minute penalty over before getting himself sent off inside four minutes.

Jon Adams then fired Telford ahead from close range, only for Jamille Matt to quickly pull the 10-man Reds level.

Dan Preston's own goal just before the break put Harriers in front, but Sharp headed home 15 minutes from time.

Vaughan, playing against his old club Telford for the first time since leaving them in April 2010, cleared the bar when Harriers were awarded a second minute penalty for Ryan Young's challenge on Jamille Matt.

Vaughan was then red carded for a reckless, two-footed challenge on Telford midfielder Courtney Pitt.

It got worse for Harriers shortly afterwards when Sharp flicked on a throw-in for Adams to slam the ball into the roof of the net, but it was all square shortly afterwards when Matt fizzed a shot into the top left-hand corner from 12 yards.

Harriers found themselves ahead before the break when Callum Gittings' free-kick was inadvertently headed into his own net by Preston.

Sean Newton saw a well-struck shot saved by the feet of home keeper Dean Lyness shortly before the visitors snatched an equaliser when his inswinging corner from the right was powered home by the head of Sharp.

Harriers manager Steve Burr told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"To play with 10 men for 85 minutes is a very hard thing to do and then the other blow was them going in front.

"So we had to pick ourselves up. But, to a man they worked very hard and we got ourselves in front by half-time.

"And to hold on with 10 men for that period of time was always going to be a tough task."

Telford boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"I'm disappointed we didn't win. We almost looked scared to play against 10 men. But there's not many who will come here and get a point.

"Sometimes you have to give the opposition credit though. They worked really hard.

"Judging by our lads' reaction, there wasn't much doubt about the penalty. But the red card was an awful challenge."
