Torquay 3-1 Plymouth

Eunan O'Kane's second-half brace helped Torquay claim their first league win over Devon rivals Plymouth since 1972.

O'Kane put the Gulls in front with a first-time finish after Plymouth had failed to clear Rene Howe's cross.

It became 2-0 when O'Kane lobbed Romain Larrieu from 35 yards out, before Danny Stevens sealed the victory by lifting a third over the advancing Larrieu.

Will Atkinson scored a consolation for Plymouth when he combined with Craig Sutherland and shot low into the net.

O'Kane goal 'out of this world' - Ling

"The first half was a really scrappy affair and we never got ourselves going. I got into the lads at half-time and the second half was superb.

"O'Kane's first goal was superb but his second was out of this world.

"Once Eunan pulled the rabbit out of the hat, there was only ever going to be one winner."

Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher told BBC Radio Devon:

It was always going to be tough here - Fletcher

"We knew the first 15 minutes of the second half were going to be important. Unfortunately we couldn't put that into practice.

"There are certain things at certain times that we don't get right.

"It was always going to be tough here. Torquay are going well."
