Harrogate Town beat Eastwood 2-1 to earn their first Blue Square Bet North victory since mid-October.

Stephen Turnbull scored after three minutes to put Harrogate ahead, Luke Ashworth adding their second before Jervaise Christie pulled one back.

"It was possibly one of the best performances of the season," said Harrogate boss Simon Weaver.

"We gave away a couple of free kicks near the end and they were looking for anything," he told BBC Radio York, external.

Weaver admitted that he was nervous in the last 20 minutes after Christie scored.

"We'd dominated possession all day," he added. "When we got it down and played, we caused all sorts of problems.

"But a toe poke, a deflection, and it would have been a nightmare if they'd got an equaliser.

"We've been though a difficult spell with injuries and suspensions. But Jonny Allan has come back at the right time for us.

"He links in so well with Paul Brayson and Alex Meechan and he just drops into holes. He's a physically strong lad."
