Blue Square Bet South side Dorchester Town have appointed former Portsmouth keeper Alan Knight as their new boss.
The 50-year-old takes over after the departure of Ashley Vickers at the end of last month, external.
The club currently sit in 11th position, six points off the play-offs and 10 clear of the relegation zone.
"It's great to be given the chance. It's something I've always wanted to do and it's a club I have a soft spot for," Knight told BBC Radio Solent.
"Obviously I've worked under a lot of very good managers and now is my chance to make my mark.
"There's some good players here and they've been on a decent run."
Phil Simkin, who has been in caretaker charge of the club since Vickers left, has overseen an up-turn in the club's fortunes and Knight is keen to retain his services.
"I spoke with Phil after I got the news. He's disappointed not to have got the job which is only natural but I would like him to stay on board.
"I'm looking forward to the chance to work alongside him."
