Liverpool have signed Wrexham's teenage goalkeeper Danny Ward for a fee in the region of £100,000.

Manager Kenny Dalglish said the Ward signing was Liverpool's only activity which would take place in the January window.

Ward, 18, has yet to make his first team debut for Wrexham and leaves with the Welsh club's blessing.

"It's a great move for Danny. He goes with our best wishes," said Wrexham's player-manager Andy Morrell.

"It will be great to see him playing top flight football in the not-too-distant future."

A Wales Under-19 international, Ward has been with Wrexham since the age of 14.

He made his Blue Square Bet Premier debut while on loan to Tamworth last season.

Under the terms of the transfer Liverpool will play the initial fee with additional payment due if and when Ward breaks into the Anfield first team.
