Southend 1-0 Crewe

Bilel Mohsni gave League Two leaders Southend a narrow victory over Crewe.

The Blues looked threatening early on, with leading scorer Liam Dickinson firing two shots narrowly wide.

Southend took the lead through Mohsni's close-range effort after Crewe goalkeeper Glenn Morris could only parry Ryan Hall's free kick.

Mohsni almost added a second but his shot was blocked by Matt Tootle as the home side maintained their position at the top of the league.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Speaking about the on-field row between Steve Phillips and David Artell, Crewe manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke:

Davis warns Crewe keeper after row

"I addressed it, told Steve what I thought of it and told him that it must not happen again.

"It's happened too many times. Once is too many, twice is certainly too many.

"Steve has a habit of losing his temper which, for a goalkeeper, is a definite no-no.

"He's got to improve that side of his game and be better equipped to cope with any criticism he gets."
