Darts boss Burman says Conference South title not won

Dartford manager Tony Burman is refusing to accept that the Blue Square Bet South title race is over, despite Saturday's 1-0 loss to leaders Woking.

The second-placed Darts are now 14 points behind the Surrey side.

"I couldn't say Woking have won the league. I can't give it up," Burman told BBC Radio Kent. "But it's a long shot."

Dartford have two games in hand on Woking but it does now make anything other than the play-offs a tough ask.

However, defender Paul Goodacre, who made his first appearance of 2012 after injury, agrees with his manager that the title race is not over.

"We've got a long way to go," he told BBC Radio Kent. "There'll be plenty of twists and turns.

"We played very well, we were camped in their half for most of the game, and there were enough chances missed."

There were wins in the division for fellow Kent sides Dover, Tonbridge and Bromley.

Tonbridge beat Weston Super Mare 3-0, thanks to two second half goals from Frannie Collin and a penalty from Jon Main, his first goal since returning from his four month injury lay-off.

Dover Athletic are up to sixth place after winning 3-1 at home to Truro, Jemal Johnson scoring a penalty on his debut.

Bromley's 2-0 win at Salisbury means that they are now five points clear of the relegation zone.

Elsewhere Cray remain fourth in Ryman Premier after a 2-1 win over Met Police.

Folkestone won 4-1 at Faversham to move up to fourth in Ryman-South and Herne Bay are just two ties from Wembley, including a two legged semi-final, after beating Larkhall Athletic 1-0 in the fifth round of the FA Vase.
