Truro City boss Lee Hodges plays down off-field issues

Truro City manager Lee Hodges has insisted his players are not affected by the club's off-field issues.

It was announced City were being hit by their second winding-up petition this season just hours before their game with Staines, which they drew 1-1.

"Of course it affects you but the boys don't know too much about it," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"I'm sure it will all come out in the wash and get sorted out like it has done before."

The club have until 30 April to pay £51,000 to HM Revenue and Customs.

On the field, Truro now sit 15th in the Blue Square Bet South table after holding on to take a point against relegation-threatened Staines.

Stewart Yetton put City ahead on the stroke of half-time, after he latched on to a through ball from midfielder Marcus Martin.

But the hosts denied Truro all three points when David Wheeler headed home.

"It wasn't pretty but we had to dig in, roll up our sleeves and it was a hard-fought point," added Hodges.

"The aim was not to get beaten and we've done a job. I couldn't have asked any more of them."
