Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Wildig signs for Shrewsbury Town

Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Wildig has become Shrewsbury's second close-season signing on a one-year deal.

Wildig, 20, initially joined Town on loan in November, playing a handful of games before his deal was then extended for the whole season in January.

But he ended the season as a regular as Shrewsbury finished strongly to win automatic promotion to League One.

And, after it became clear that he was being released by Cardiff, Town boss Graham Turner has moved quickly.

Town made their first signing for 2012-13 a fortnight ago when they brought in midfielder Asa Hall from Oxford United.

That offset the loss of another member of their promotion-winning midfield, Nicky Wroe to Preston, along with defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, while skipper Ian Sharps has moved to Rotherham.
