AFC Telford United have signed former Port Vale midfielder Kris Taylor ahead of the new Conference season.

The 28 year-old had been on manager Andy Sinton's radar for some time, with the Bucks boss admitting he tried to sign Taylor last October from Darlington.

"We're very fortunate to get somebody of his calibre," Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire, external.

"He's indicated for a long time this is where he wants to be."

Sinton continued: "Kris has been training with Port Vale during pre-season so he's in great shape and he'll be a quality player for us this season."

Telford have also recruited Macclesfield goalkeeper Jack Cudworth and former Ottawa Fury striker Joe Yoffe.

The Bucks travel to Cumbria on the opening day of the Conference season to play Barrow. One player set to miss out is striker Chris Sharp, who has a groin injury.
