Gateshead 1-1 Lincoln City

  • Published

Conner Robinson scored a last-minute equaliser to earn Lincoln a point from their trip to Gateshead.

Jamie Taylor had a shot saved by home keeper Adam Bartlett, and Alan Power saw his effort blocked as the Imps went close early on.

But Gateshead took the lead just before the break when James Marwood drilled a shot into the bottom corner.

Lincoln keeper Paul Farman twice denied Yemi Odubade a second and those saves proved crucial when Robinson fired in.

Holdsworth praises Imps character

Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:

"The boys kept going and showed an enormous amount of belief and character.

"It would have been a travesty had we come away with nothing because we played so well. We dominated affairs in terms of possession.

"It was a wonderful strike for the young man, the players have got right behind him."
