Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher is looking to strengthen his squad before Friday's transfer deadline.

A poor start to the season has seen the Pilgrims winless in League Two after three games, scoring just once and picking up one point.

Argyle have signed five players this summer and injuries have meant three of them have yet to start a league game.

"We need to bring players in and we need to get rid of players," Fletcher told BBC Radio Devon.

Plymouth face Championship side Burnley in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night at Turf Moor.

The Pilgrims could face Alex MacDonald, who scored four times in 18 appearances during a loan spell at Home Park last season.

Fletcher added: "It'll be nice to see him as I haven't seen him since the summer and it'll be good to catch up.

"We spoke to Alex in the summer and we just couldn't get where we needed to for both parties to agree."
