Gateshead 2-0 Dartford

  • Published

Goals from Micky Cummings and Josh Gillies helped Gateshead beat Dartford.

The Darts went into the game on the back of four consecutive wins, and could have gone ahead had Harry Crawford not headed Ryan Hayes' centre over the bar.

But it was the Tynesiders that took the lead when Cummings powered in a header from Ryan Donaldson's delivery.

Gillies then secured victory for the hosts when he latched onto Jamie Chandler's pass and fired home.

Dartford manager Tony Burman:

We did not create enough - Burman

"We were beaten by the better side. We had to be organised, we were for the first 40 minutes, but to concede a goal before half time lifted Gateshead.

"We'd played similar in previous games and won those games. The guys worked really hard but we didn't have enough energy left to create anything.

"When you work hard defending without the ball, it's difficult. The goal came at the wrong time, but there weren't enough chances. We should have created more."
