Leicester's Liam Moore has bright future - Pearson

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says the emergence of teenage defender Liam Moore has been an unexpected bonus.

The 19-year-old has only played seven senior games for the Foxes, but five of them have come this season.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "He has a bright future. He has played very well so far this season.

"He has maybe had an opportunity that before the season you wouldn't think he would have. So good for him and good for us too."

Moore also had a successful loan spell with Bradford City last season, making a total of 22 appearances during five months with the club.

Pearson has been impressed by Moore's performances and his attitude in coping with speculation linking him with a host of Premier League sides.

"It's important he keeps a perspective on where he is," Pearson added. "He has still played less than 10 senior games but he has done exceptionally well.

"He has shown a level of maturity to be able to play at right-back and at centre-back, and deal with the added speculation about interest from ridiculous sources generated by silly people. I think he has dealt with it exceptionally well.

"He is a young man who has clear focus on where he wants to go. He is very pleased to be playing for us and I think that is a good perspective to have.

"It is very early in his career and he is very lucky to be playing alongside a seasoned campaigner in Wes Morgan who will aid his development very much. It doesn't matter who you work with as a coach but you probably learn more if you play alongside a senior player."
