Aldershot Town remain in the League Two relegation zone following a goalless draw at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The two sides cancelled each other out in a game of few chances at Victoria Road in the wind and rain.

Matthew Saunders went close for the Daggers in the first half when his long-range effort beat Jamie Young but clipped the top of the crossbar.

Shots keeper Young foiled Luke Howell after the break while Danny Hylton poked wide for the visitors.

Shots spirit earned draw - Holdsworth

"We could've won today. We've had enough chances and if we had that little bit more finesse it might have got us the goal.

"They've worked extremely hard and we now move onto the FA Cup [against Hendon] and Wycombe in the league so it's another big week [ahead].

"We've gone back to basics with the back five and we've gone back to defending well and they're going to grow and be delighted with the clean sheet."
