Shrewsbury sign Julian Bennett from Sheffield Wednesday

Shrewsbury Town have signed Sheffield Wednesday defender Julian Bennett on a one-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old left-back has made 25 appearances for the Owls since joining from Nottingham Forest last year.

Bennett can be selected for Saturday's FA Cup tie with boss Graham Turner's former side Hereford United.

"Julian's experienced, he's a good competitor, he's played at Championship level and knows what the game's about," Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"He's played numerous games at the higher level and brings good experience to the squad even though he's only 27 years.

"Julian should have come in last week but I'm pleased that he's finally joined the squad."
