Aldershot picked up a narrow win at Burton to make it four away matches without loss in League Two.
Dani Lopez latched on to Danny Hylton's flick-on to lash home the opening goal from 20 yards after just four minutes.
Visiting goalkeeper Jamie Young got down well to save Chris Palmer's fierce drive as the hosts tried in vain to get themselves back on level terms.
Hylton almost made it 2-0 after the break with a low shot and Lopez forced a point-blank save from Dean Lyness.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:
"It's disappointing, I had a feeling before the game.
"We were a little bit quiet and I think it was mainly down to fatigue. When you've played Thursday night, Saturday and Tuesday, it's asking an awful lot.
"I tried to put a brave face on it in terms of that we've had three days to recover, but if you looked at the performances this season, I think this third game was a bit too much and we didn't have the same energy."
Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth told BBC Surrey:
"We're learning as we go along, which is great. The effort was fantastic again. It's one defeat in seven games, so I'm delighted.
"It's a great three points here and the confidence will grow. They'll start enjoying it as we get further up the division.
"At the moment we are still really digging in for each other and working our socks off."
