Carlisle United have extended the loan of Watford striker Joe Garner for a second time, taking the deal up to the 93-day maximum of 19 December.

The 24-year-old has scored seven goals in 14 appearances for the Cumbrians and is top goalscorer for the club.

"Joe has done a good job for us," boss Greg Abbott told the club website., external

"He causes problems and he's brave, and he has got us some really important goals. We think he still has more to show because he's getting better."

Abbott added: "He's getting games and he's enjoying himself up here, and we think this has been a move which has been of benefit to all concerned."

Garner, who joined Nottingham Forest in July 2008 from Carlisle, played 55 games at the City Ground before moving to Watford in August 2011.

Since moving to Vicarage Road, he has scored once in 27 matches.
