St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas faces fresh misconduct charge

St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas, already given an eight-match touchline ban, is in trouble again with the Scottish Football Association.

He has been issued with a notice of complaint by compliance officer Vincent Lunny for kicking a water bottle during his side's defeat by Hibernian.

No fixed suspension has been offered on this occasion.

But the Northern Irishman has been called to a hearing at Hampden Park on Thursday 20 December.

Lomas has until next Wednesday to respond to the misconduct charge for "failing to behave in a responsible manner as an occupant of the technical area by kicking a water bottle carrier, causing water bottles to land in the stand".

The Saints boss was sent to the stand by referee Craig Thomson following his touchline outburst, which came after Nigel Hasselbaink had missed a penalty kick.

Lomas said afterwards that he was "frustrated" and "perplexed" because Dave McKay had been the nominated penalty taker.

The day after his dismissal, Lomas was issued with an eight-match suspension for previous misdemeanours.

Lomas was punished for using "abusive language towards a match official" when he was sent off at Celtic Park last month.

The ban was increased since he already had a suspended two-game ban for his conduct at Ross County in September.
