Chesterfield have released striker Craig Westcarr after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

The 27-year-old, who has spent the last two months on loan at Walsall, scored 10 goals in 53 league appearances for the Spireites.

Westcarr, along with defender Neal Trotman, was transfer listed by the League Two side in November.

"Craig has been a good professional during his time here," chief executive Chris Turner told the club website.

"He'll always be remembered for his goal at Wembley and we wish him well for the future."

The former Nottingham Forest and Notts County man scored the second goal in the club's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final win over Swindon in March.
