Plymouth climbed out of the bottom two and stretched their unbeaten run to three games with a dull goalless draw at home to Dagenham and Redbridge.

Ronan Murray hit the bar in the 33rd minute for Argyle from a cross by new loan signing Jason Banton, who was also had a shot saved by Chris Lewington.

After the break, Reuben Reid's header at a corner was cleared off the line.

The visitors were restricted to long-range efforts from Luke Howells, Billy Bingham, Ben Strevens and Sam Williams.

Argyle boss did not fear defeat

"We played better today than the previous two. I'd like us to play even better, but I think we should've won the game with the chances we had.

"It's another clean sheet, I didn't feel in danger, I didn't feel we were going to lose the game. We defended well and our keeper didn't have much to do.

"We'd have jumped three places if we'd won today so it's a shame, but I can't ask for any more from them.

"I think our pass appreciation and keeping the ball in the opposition's half for longer periods and taking care of it was probably our downfall today."
