Irish Premiership: Lisburn Distillery 2-1 Glenavon

Lisburn Distillery secured their third league win of the season by beating Glenavon at New Grosvenor.

Scott Davidson scored the opener for the Whites on 37 minutes with a low right-foot shot past Davy O'Hare.

Mark Farren equalised with a firm header from a Kyle Neill left-wing cross two minutes before the interval.

Aaron Boyd headed home the winner after Jonny Harkness' corner from the right landed in a crowded goalmouth with 15 minutes remaining.

Distillery missed a number of opportunities before Davidson's 20-yard strike broke the deadlock.

Boyd headed wide and Grant Gardiner was off-target with a volley.

The victory gave the Whites their first points of 2013 but they remain four adrift at the bottom because Donegal Celtic, the team immediately above them in the table, won at home to Ballinamallard.

Distillery now face Dundela in a rearranged Irish Cup tie at New Grosvenor on Tuesday with a place in the last eight awaiting the winners.

"The league may be the priority, but we want to get past Dundela in the cup too," said Distillery manager Tim McCann.

"To be honest, the club needs the revenue connected with getting to the Irish Cup quarter-finals.

"But it is also important we follow up this win with another.

'Winning can become a habit and, in our position, we need to win matches."
