Irish Cup sixth round: Lisburn Distillery 2-1 Dundela

Lisburn Distillery set up an Irish Cup quarter-final meeting with Crusaders on Saturday as they saw off juniors Dundela at the third time of asking.

The sixth-round tie was postponed on 9 February and then was halted after an hour because of fog last Tuesday with the Whites leading 3-0.

Dundela took the lead on 21 minutes as Ben Roy latched on to a dreadful back pass from Johnny Harkness.

However Aaron Boyd levelled on 45 and Scott Davidson netted the winner on 52.

Harkness was woefully short with his attempted back pass on 21 and Roy pounced on to the mistake before slotting past Lee Windrum.

William Faulkner had a chance to extend Dundela's lead in the 34th minute but he side-footed wide after a Roy cross.

Despite the miss, Dundela would still have been happy to go in ahead at the interval but instead the Whites levelled in first-half injury-time as Boyd blasted home from close range after the visitors had failed to clear a long throw-in from Andy Hunter.

The visitors were suddenly behind seven minutes after the restart as Davidson hammered to the net.

Another poor back pass - this time from Hunter - almost gifted an equalising chance to Mark McClelland but Lee Windrum got down bravely to block the effort.

Michael Halliday had an opportunity to extend Distillery's lead on 82 after rounding keeper Jonathan Sergeant but Roy got back to clear off the line.

With keeper Sergeant joining the Dundela attack in the closing seconds, they almost forced an equaliser but Aaron Smyth cleared the effort to safety.
