MK Dons 2-3 Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury boosted their chances of avoiding relegation from League One with an away victory against MK Dons.

Tom Eaves' low shot gave Town the lead, before curling home a second to double their advantage inside 19 minutes.

Shrewsbury old boy Ryan Lowe pulled a goal back, bundling in after Antony Kay's flick-on, then made it 2-2 with a header from Shaun Williams' free-kick.

The visitors, who had lost their last three, won it when Kay volleyed past his own goalkeeper on 69 minutes.

After failing to win on their travels before Christmas, Graham Turner's Town have now won four away games since the turn of the year.

Graham Turner's side have gone seven points clear of trouble with eight games left, but 21-placed Oldham Athletic have three games in hand.

MK Dons slip a place to 13th, now 12 points adrift of the play-offs.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"To be honest I'm lost for words. They've had two shots on target and scored three goals.

"I can't question any of the players' attitudes. I don't think anyone shirked responsibility.

"Yes, there were mistakes, which I could come out here and point fingers at. But the people who made mistakes have arguably been our better players over the course of the season.

"Anyone in the stadium who watched the game and saw the score at the end would be very, very shocked."

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"It was a terrific result. We gave it a real go and played with confidence. It was an all-round tremendous performance - everyone's put a good shift in."

"At 2-0 up we had chances to extend the lead, and even when we'd been pegged back to 2-2 we still created chances.

"Tom Eaves did ever so well for us. He's got an eye for goals, but he also put in a terrific amount for the team.

"It's been an amazing season in terms of going so long without winning away from home. And now, with the exception of the Walsall game, we've had four absolutely terrific results on the road. Coventry, Preston and Tranmere and now MK Dons are all sides capable of getting into the play-offs."
